Communication. I revel in it when it’s good. When it’s bad, it’s like I’m allergic to my own skin.

As an information architect, I encounter a lot of content that makes me want to scratch out my eyes. But buried in the muck of stale interface, bad architecture and completely inaccessible CSS is the occasional nugget of gold: information. And I want to give you that information.

Sometimes–due to technological constraints, bandwidth or plain old bureaucracy–I can’t give it to you right up front. But I’m at least going to give you a damn good shovel.

I’m a nerd. I get off on metadata, content management, inventories, workflow development–all the yummy details that feed my OCD. These are tools, the pick and shovel. But the gold we’re digging for is and will always be communication.
